Patrick Finucane Inquiry to hold preliminary hearing in June 2026

 The Patrick Finucane Inquiry has today confirmed that it will hold a preliminary hearing at Bradford Court, Belfast on Wednesday 10 June 2026.  

This is the first hearing to be held by the Inquiry.  It will be a procedural hearing which will provide an opportunity to introduce the public to the Inquiry. In particular, the Chair will consider practical issues relating to the conduct of the Inquiry’s investigation and future hearings.  

The hearing will be live streamed for those who wish to watch the proceedings online.  

The preliminary hearing will be chaired by the Patrick Finucane Inquiry Chair, Sir Gary Hickinbottom. Counsel to the Inquiry is Matthew Hill.

Media are asked to arrive at the hearing centre between 8.30am and 8.45am. The Hearing will commence at 10.30am and is expected to conclude by 2.30pm.
